WELL Health Technologies has appointed Evelyn Sutherland as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective September 21, 2026, succeeding outgoing CFO Eva Fong as the company prepares for its next phase of growth. Fong will remain with the organization in a strategic Executive Advisor role to ensure an orderly leadership transition.
"I am honoured to join WELL at such an exciting inflection point in its evolution," Sutherland said in a statement regarding the appointment. "The Company has built an exceptional platform with a strong culture, talented people and a clear strategic vision."
Background and Industry Experience
Sutherland brings financial leadership experience from across the Canadian retail, energy, and real estate sectors. Her prior executive background includes serving as Chief Financial Officer at Staples Canada, Enercare Inc., KEYreit, and the United Purchasing Group of Canada.
In addition to her corporate finance background, Sutherland is already familiar with WELL Health's operations. She spent the past year serving on the board of directors for WELLSTAR, a subsidiary of WELL Health Technologies.
What the Leadership Handover Means for WELL Health
The executive changes come as WELL Health continues to scale its digital health and clinic operations platform. Fong's transition to an advisory role is designed to maintain continuity in financial reporting and strategic initiatives as Sutherland steps into the chief financial officer post.
Executive transitions in the healthcare technology sector often coincide with shifts in capital allocation and operational scaling. By securing a CFO with experience across large retail and service-oriented enterprises, WELL Health aims to support its ongoing development in the digital health marketplace.
