A cookie is a small file a site can store in your browser to remember something between visits. This page explains what Embers actually uses, and it's deliberately short: we don't use cookies for anything you wouldn't expect.
Your cookie choice, technically
The choice you make in the consent message you see on your first visit — Consent, or Manage options for a more granular choice — is handled by Google's own consent management tooling, not a banner we built ourselves. It applies until you change it, and it's what Google Analytics and Google AdSense actually check before storing anything, not a promise on our part alone.
What we use

Controlling cookies
You can decline analytics/advertising cookies from the consent message, or change your mind later with the "Manage cookie choices" button above. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies globally in their settings. Doing so may affect how some other sites function, though Embers itself will keep working either way, since nothing here is required to read an article.
