President Donald Trump announced in the Oval Office that United States officials are actively engaged with mediators to conclude the ongoing military conflict with Iran, forecasting a swift resolution and a subsequent drop in fuel costs. The remarks outline Washington's diplomatic and strategic posture in the Middle East alongside simultaneous trade and security discussions.
"We're going to win; as far as I'm concerned, it's going to be one way or the other," Trump said in the Oval Office. "It's going to go pretty quickly."
Gas Prices and Diplomatic Mediators
During the press conference covered by The Jerusalem Post, the president emphasized that domestic energy costs will drop significantly once the military campaign concludes. According to the report, Washington is utilizing third-party mediators to establish communication channels with Tehran while military operations continue.
Trade Talks and Security Incidents
Beyond the conflict in the Middle East, the president addressed bilateral trade and international security matters. Trump noted that a trade agreement with Canada remains under discussion because Canadian officials are actively seeking terms.
In addition, Trump commented on a security breach involving an alleged foiled bombing attempt at the United Kingdom's RAF Fairford airbase. The president stated that he would not have released five suspects who were subsequently freed on bail following their arrests in connection to the incident.
