Marvell Technology has introduced two new connectivity products targeting AI infrastructure, the Alaska E 3.2T retimer and the second-generation Alaska A 1.6T AEC DSP, aimed at addressing signal integrity and power efficiency challenges in 224G signaling environments. The hardware releases are currently sampling to customers and being showcased at the OCP Global Summit 2026.

"AI scale-up networks are moving rapidly to 224G signaling, making signal integrity, low latency and power efficiency critical to connecting increasingly dense infrastructure," said Xi Wang, senior vice president and general manager of Marvell's Connectivity Business Group, in an Investing.com report.

Technical Specifications and Product Rollout

The newly announced hardware lineup is designed to support high-density artificial intelligence clusters. According to the Investing.com coverage, the Alaska E 3.2T protocol-aware retimer provides 3.2 terabits per second of aggregate bandwidth through 16 lanes of 224G PAM4 connectivity. It supports Ethernet, UALink, and ESUN protocols to facilitate communication across massive accelerator arrays.

Meanwhile, the second-generation Alaska A 1.6T Active Electrical Cable Digital Signal Processor is built on a 3-nanometer semiconductor process node. The DSP delivers eight lanes of 224G PAM4 connectivity while consuming 12.8 watts of power, which the company data indicates provides 8 watts in power savings compared with older 5-nanometer designs.

Market Projections and Industry Growth

The broader optical and connectivity market supporting AI data centers is expanding alongside the transition to rack-scale architectures.

"The AI scale-up networking market will exceed $50 billion by 2030, driven by the transition to rack-scale architectures and the move to 224G signaling," said Vladimir Kozlov, founder and CEO of LightCounting.

Market Performance for Marvell Stock

These product announcements arrive during market volatility for semiconductor equities. As of Finnhub market data on October 16, 2026, Marvell Technology Inc. (MRVL) closed down 5.56% at $227.83, compared to its previous close of $241.24.
