DocMorris is moving from a traditional online pharmacy to an AI-focused health platform. This transition has driven revenue growth while leading to a reduction in headcount. The company reported that its internal automation program will replace more than 100 full-time equivalent positions by the end of 2027.
"We have really transitioned into the AI health platform, really focusing on AI services and products in our healthcare platform," said Kelvin Jörn, an executive at DocMorris, during the Global Markets Forum conference.
Financial Performance and Operational Gains
The shift toward AI integration coincides with improved financial metrics. In the first half of 2026, DocMorris reported group revenue growth exceeding 30%. The company's adjusted EBITDA also showed recovery, improving to negative EUR 11 million compared to negative EUR 29 million during the same period in 2025.
Management anticipates that the automation of these 100-plus roles will yield cost savings exceeding CHF 15 million by the end of 2027. This efficiency drive is part of an effort to narrow losses and scale the platform's digital capabilities.
Internal Tool Migration
DocMorris has overhauled its internal operational infrastructure to prioritize AI-native workflows. According to Jörn, the company has migrated its entire suite of internal tools away from Microsoft products.
"We completely shifted our internal tools away from Microsoft to Google, and we are not using PowerPoint anymore. Fully integrated Google in every meeting and use Gemini and use Claude for the coding topics," Jörn said.
What Is at Stake
The transition highlights a trend among digital-first healthcare companies to replace legacy enterprise software with generative AI tools. By substituting human administrative tasks with AI agents, DocMorris is attempting to balance the capital-intensive nature of scaling an online pharmacy with the need for a leaner cost structure. The company's ability to maintain its 30% growth rate while navigating this workforce displacement will be a metric for stakeholders monitoring its path toward profitability.
