Swiss construction chemicals company Sika has expanded its British footprint by acquiring Azpects Group, a manufacturer of specialized polymeric jointing compounds for the landscaping sector. Financial terms and the purchase price of the transaction were not disclosed by Sika.
“We warmly welcome the Azpects team to our Sika family and look forward to a successful future together,” said Christoph Ganz, Sika’s regional manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, in a statement.
Polymeric Compounds and Landscaping Products
Based in the United Kingdom, Azpects manufactures and distributes polymeric paving joint compounds and complementary landscaping products. These materials are utilized across the construction and maintenance industries for patios, pathways, and driveways.
The acquisition integrates Azpects' product lineup into Sika’s building finishing portfolio. Polymeric jointing compounds use specialized polymers to bind aggregate materials, creating flexible, weed-resistant, and durable joints for outdoor hard landscaping.
Strategic Expansion in the British Market
For Sika, the purchase represents an addition to its existing operations in the UK construction sector. The Swiss multinational manufactures systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing, and protecting in the building sector and motor vehicle industry.
Corporate acquisitions in the specialty chemicals sector often target regional brands to secure established distribution channels and localized manufacturing capacity. By absorbing Azpects, Sika gains direct access to established supply chains serving British builders' merchants and landscaping contractors.
