Moonpig Group shares fell 5.29% to 247 pence following its annual general meeting trading update, as investors reacted to unchanged full-year guidance and ongoing revenue declines in its Experiences segment. The stock move marked the lowest trading level for the greeting card and gifting platform since July 1, according to an Investing.com report.
"I am pleased with the progress we have made in the year to date and the disciplined execution of our strategy across the Group," said Catherine Faiers, CEO, in a statement regarding the update. "Customers continue to choose us to help them recognise life's important moments, reflecting the ongoing relevance of Moonpig's proposition."
Core Trading and Experiences Segment Performance
Overall Group trading has remained in line with management expectations since the start of the current financial year (FY27) on May 1, 2026. This performance stability underpinned the decision to maintain the existing financial outlook for the remainder of the period.
Within the Experiences segment, online gross transaction value continued to grow. However, reported revenue remained lower compared to the same period in the prior year, driven by a managed exit from certain third-party retail partnerships and commission reinvestment. Management anticipates that revenue within the Experiences division will return to year-on-year growth during the second half of FY27.
Financial Framework and Growth Targets
The company's medium-term financial framework targets mid-to-high single-digit percentage annual revenue growth alongside an Adjusted EBITDA margin of 25% to 27%. The strategy also aims for double-digit percentage growth in Adjusted earnings per share, supported by active share buyback programs.
Market Context and Investor Sentiment
Faiers emphasized the operational focus underlying these targets. "We are focused on investing in our platform, brands and customer experience while delivering sustainable, profitable growth," she said. "We remain confident in our outlook for the year."
Despite management's reaffirmed confidence and ongoing investments in customer experience, the lack of an upgraded financial outlook left some market participants desiring faster acceleration, leading to the session's downward price pressure.
