Li Auto delivered 31,817 vehicles in September 2026, bringing the company’s total cumulative deliveries to 1,833,651 units. This performance reflects a period of product diversification and international scaling as the manufacturer prepares to enter the European market.
"The new-generation Li L6 delivered over 10,000 units in September, ranking among the top three in the extended-range market," said Li Xiang, Chairman and CEO of Li Auto, in a statement.
Expanding the BEV and International Lineup
To broaden its battery-electric vehicle (BEV) portfolio, Li Auto launched the Li MEGA Home and the Li i9 Home during September. These additions are part of a strategy to capture a larger share of the pure-electric segment, which complements the company's existing strength in extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).
The company is scheduled to launch the Li i6 model in October 2026. This release will serve as the primary vehicle for its international debut, and the company plans to showcase the model at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. This move represents a pivot toward global markets, extending operations beyond its traditional domestic stronghold.
Software and Infrastructure Updates
Beyond hardware sales, the company is focusing on enhancing its existing fleet through software. Li Auto recently deployed its MACH VLA 2.0 software via an over-the-air (OTA) update. According to a recent SEC filing, the update is reaching nearly one million Li AD Max vehicles equipped with Orin-X and Thor chips.
Market Position and Strategic Stakes
For Li Auto, the ability to sustain high delivery volumes while transitioning into the competitive European market remains a challenge. The company’s focus on the EREV market, where the Li L6 has seen strong adoption, provides a stable revenue base to fund the development and marketing of its new BEV offerings.
The introduction of the Li i6 in Europe tests the brand's appeal outside of China. Success in this region would diversify the company’s geographic footprint and provide a new growth vector as the domestic Chinese market faces pressure from both legacy automakers and emerging EV entrants.
