Boeing delivered 161 commercial aircraft and 33 defense units in the third quarter of 2026, according to an Investing.com report, marking an operational update as the aerospace manufacturer tracks annual production volume.
Commercial airplane shipments during the quarter were anchored by the company's single-aisle production line. Year-to-date commercial deliveries through the first nine months of 2026 reached 475 aircraft, providing investors with a baseline metric for cash generation ahead of official quarterly financial results.
Commercial Model Breakdown
The third-quarter commercial delivery total of 161 aircraft spanned four distinct manufacturing programs. The narrowbody 737 program continued to drive the bulk of production output, while widebody deliveries included multiple twin-aisle platforms.
- 737: 124 units (367 units year-to-date)
- 787 Dreamliner: 22 units
- 767: 10 units
- 777: 5 units
Total year-to-date commercial volume of 475 aircraft reflects ongoing efforts by Boeing to stabilize supply chain bottlenecks and meet airline customer demand.
Defense, Space and Security Deliveries
Alongside its commercial output, Boeing's Defense, Space & Security segment reported 33 deliveries for the third quarter. This brought total defense deliveries for the first nine months of 2026 to 98 units.
The third-quarter defense figures comprised multiple military aircraft and rotary-wing platforms:
- AH-64 Apache: 12 remanufactured units and 3 new units
- KC-46 Tanker: 7 aircraft
- CH-47 Chinook: 2 new units and 1 renewed unit
- F-15: 2 models
- F/A-18: 2 models
- Commercial and civil satellites: 3 units
- MH-139: 1 aircraft
Year-to-date defense shipments through September included 36 remanufactured Apache helicopters, 15 KC-46 Tankers, and 11 new Apache units.
Provisional Reporting Caveat
Boeing noted in its operational disclosure that the delivery figures are considered provisional and are not finalized until the company officially releases its complete quarterly financial results.
