Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has expanded its Colorado commercial insurance presence by acquiring Englewood-based McMillan Insurance & Bonding Inc., which operates under the name Innovise Business Consultants. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed by the global brokerage.

"Innovise Business Consultants is a highly regarded agency with niche industry expertise that deepens our capabilities in Colorado," said J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., Chairman and CEO.

Integration and Leadership Plans

The acquired firm specializes in commercial insurance brokerage and surety bonding, with targeted industry lines spanning construction, energy, real estate, and manufacturing. Following the transaction, the Innovise team will relocate to Gallagher's established regional office in Denver.

Operations will integrate under the leadership of Bret VanderVoort, who serves as the head of Gallagher's Western Zone retail property and casualty brokerage operations. Jason McMillan will continue to lead the transitioning Innovise team within the larger corporate structure.

Market Position and Recent Stock Performance

The acquisition aligns with Gallagher's ongoing strategy of expanding its geographic footprint and specialized sector capabilities through targeted bolt-on acquisitions. As a global insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, the company routinely consolidates regional agencies to capture local market share in niche commercial lines.

In public trading, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: AJG) shares were recently quoted at $241.41, marking a 0.97% decline from the previous close of $243.78, according to Finnhub market data.

What the Acquisition Means for Regional Clients

For businesses in Colorado and neighboring mountain states, the consolidation means regional clients will gain access to Gallagher's broader placement capabilities and global carrier network while retaining local advisory relationships. Surety bonding and commercial property coverage in energy and construction sectors remain key competitive areas for middle-market brokerages operating in the Western United States.
