Antom has integrated Affirm's buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) services for its U.S. merchant base. This integration allows for flexible payment options on transactions between $35 and $30,000. The partnership launched this month, and it serves as an expansion for the payment platform as it adds financing tools for its users.
"Our merchants are looking for payment options that can support their growth while remaining simple to integrate and familiar to their customers," said Gary Liu, CEO of Antom and Senior Vice President of Ant International, in a statement regarding the partnership.
Expanding Checkout Capabilities
Under the new agreement, merchants using the Antom platform can offer customers biweekly and monthly payment plans. A feature of this integration allows merchants to provide six-month interest-free payment options. This tool is designed to increase conversion rates by reducing the immediate financial burden on consumers.
"Payment platforms increasingly choose Affirm because their merchants do better when customers can pay over time on honest terms," said Steve McPhee, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Affirm.
Global Expansion Roadmap
The current rollout is limited to U.S.-based merchants, but the companies have outlined a broader geographic strategy. According to a company press release, the service is scheduled to launch for customers in the United Kingdom later this year. Following the UK launch, Antom and Affirm intend to pursue expansion into additional global markets.
The Role of BNPL in Merchant Strategy
For merchants, integrating BNPL services is a way to drive higher average order values and reduce cart abandonment. By embedding Affirm directly into the Antom checkout flow, merchants gain access to a pre-integrated financing solution without the technical overhead of building custom payment installments. This partnership shows the trend of payment aggregators like Antom embedding third-party financial services to compete with full-stack payment ecosystems.
