Truist Securities lowered its price target for Stryker Corporation from $340 to $310, citing revised revenue and earnings expectations after recent management commentary. The firm maintained a Hold rating on the medical technology company’s shares.
The adjustment follows scrutiny regarding Stryker’s operational performance and long-term financial guidance. The downward revision by Truist aligns with a trend among analysts who have tempered their outlooks for the company in recent weeks.
Broad Analyst Revisions
Truist is one of several brokerages adjusting its valuation model for the medical device manufacturer. Other major firms have reduced their price targets, reflecting a shift in sentiment regarding the company's near-term growth trajectory:
- TD Cowen: Cut to $298 from $355
- BMO Capital: Cut to $317 from $369
- Stifel: Cut to $330 from $360
- Canaccord Genuity: Cut to $385 from $400
These revisions show that market observers are incorporating updated management forecasts into their valuation models.
Leadership Transition Ahead
Stryker is preparing for a change in its executive leadership. The company announced that current President and Chief Operating Officer Spencer Stiles will succeed Kevin Lobo as Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2027. Lobo will move into the role of Executive Chair after the transition.
What Is at Stake
For investors and market participants, the recent wave of target price reductions underscores the impact of management’s updated revenue guidance on valuation. As the medical technology sector navigates shifting demand and operational costs, the ability of Stryker to meet its revised targets under the current leadership and the incoming CEO remains a primary focus for analysts tracking the stock.
