Telos Corporation has been awarded a $13.5 million, three-year contract by the 16th Air Force to provide maintenance and cyber services for intelligence systems. The agreement continues the partnership between the cybersecurity firm and the U.S. Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (AF ISR) community.
"Protecting Air Force intelligence systems requires both proven technology and deep cyber expertise," said John B. Wood, chairman and CEO of Telos, in a statement regarding the contract.
Scope of the Agreement
Under the terms of the deal, Telos will provide license maintenance, training, and specialized cyber services to support the Air Force Intelligence Community. The contract focuses on the company’s Xacta platform, a tool designed to automate cyber governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) processes.
In high-security environments like the AF ISR, GRC tools are used to accelerate security authorizations and maintain compliance with federal mandates. By automating these workflows, the platform helps security teams assess and remediate vulnerabilities within intelligence networks.
Market Performance
The contract announcement coincides with movement for Telos Corp (TLS) shares. As of October 9, 2026, the company's stock was trading at $4.63, reflecting a 5.95% increase.
The Role of Automated Compliance
For defense contractors, securing long-term service agreements for compliance software provides a stable revenue stream, though these contracts are subject to annual budget appropriations and shifts in federal procurement priorities. The 16th Air Force, which serves as the Air Force's information warfare command, integrates intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, cyber warfare, and electronic warfare into an operational framework. The reliance on automated GRC platforms like Xacta reflects an industry trend toward digitizing the compliance process to keep pace with cyber threats.
