Stifel lowered its price target on Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ: CRDO) to $310 from $350 while maintaining a Buy rating, pointing to valuation concerns following a sharp rally in the semiconductor stock, according to an Investing.com report. The adjustment comes as the connectivity chip designer trades at elevated multiples, even as financial institutions project expansion across its copper and optical product lines.

Credo trades at $218.64, representing a 153% gain from its 52-week low, with a market capitalization of $41.09 billion.

Portfolio Expansion and Fiscal Projections

Despite trimming the price target, analysts remain bullish on the company's underlying fundamentals and market positioning in high-speed data infrastructure. Stifel projects fiscal year 2027 optical revenue to exceed $600 million, driven by multiple product categories scaling simultaneously.

Under the firm's forward estimates, three key product lines are expected to individually contribute over $100 million in revenue by fiscal 2027:

  • ZeroFlap transceivers
  • Silicon Photonics Integrated Circuits (SiPho PICs)
  • Optical Digital Signal Processors (DSPs)

JPMorgan Adjusts Price Target Alongside Stifel

Stifel is joined by other institutions recalibrating their outlooks on the chipmaker. JPMorgan similarly lowered its price target for Credo Tech to $310 from $335, while pointing to growth across both copper and optical portfolios and revenue guidance exceeding 85% for fiscal 2027.

What Valuation Means for High-Growth Chipmakers

Valuation compression among high-performing semiconductor equities typically occurs when share price appreciation outpaces near-term earnings growth, prompting analysts to recalibrate price targets even when operational execution remains strong. For Credo, sustaining a $41 billion market capitalization relies heavily on the successful commercialization and broad enterprise adoption of its next-generation connectivity solutions as data center operators upgrade infrastructure for artificial intelligence workloads.
