Morgan Stanley initiated coverage on Enliven Therapeutics (NASDAQ:ELVN) with an overweight rating and a $70.00 price target, highlighting the clinical potential of its lead oncology candidate, ELVN-001.

The investment bank's newly launched coverage outlines a long-term commercial timeline for the biotechnology company, projecting topline data for ELVN-001 in approximately 2028-2029. According to an Investing.com report, Morgan Stanley models the asset to generate its first revenue in 2030, scaling toward $2.6 billion by its terminal year in 2036.

Clinical Catalysts and Trial Timelines

The bull case centers heavily on ELVN-001, a targeted small-molecule kinase inhibitor designed for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Enliven Therapeutics is preparing to advance the asset into a pivotal Phase 3 trial named ENABLE-2, targeting patients in the second-line setting and beyond.

Management expects the ENABLE-2 study to officially initiate in the fourth quarter of 2026. This late-stage trial serves as the primary operational milestone underpinning the bank's forward-looking revenue and valuation models.

Balance Sheet and Financial Runway

Supporting this clinical pipeline, Enliven Therapeutics reported a strong liquidity position as it enters the second half of 2026. The biotech firm closed out the second quarter of 2026 with $895.2 million in cash and investments.

This capital pool was reinforced by a $460 million gross stock offering completed in June 2026. Based on these funds, company management guides that its current cash runway will comfortably finance operations into 2030, bridging the gap toward commercialization.

Meanwhile, shares of covering institution Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) traded at $189.71, down 0.69% from a previous close of $191.02, according to Finnhub market data as of October 7, 2026.

What Is at Stake in CML Treatment

The initiation of Wall Street coverage puts a spotlight on the market for targeted oncology treatments. As Enliven prepares for the ENABLE-2 trial, investors and industry watchers are tracking whether ELVN-001 can differentiate itself in efficacy and safety against established tyrosine kinase inhibitors currently used in chronic myeloid leukemia management.
