Metlen Energy & Metals PLC is reviewing strategic options for its METKA Group infrastructure unit, including a potential standalone listing on Euronext Athens following a corporate consolidation.

Should the company proceed with a public offering, Metlen expects to retain majority control of METKA to maintain its position as a dedicated infrastructure platform, according to an Investing.com report.

Consolidation of METKA Group

The strategic review encompasses several business units brought together under the METKA Group umbrella. The consolidation integrates the following operations:

  • METKA ATE: The primary construction business.
  • M Concessions S.A.: A recently announced spin-off focused on concession projects.
  • Unison S.A.: A facility management services provider.

Strategic Rationale for Athens

By grouping these construction, concession, and facility management assets into a unified corporate structure, Metlen aims to evaluate capital market pathways that could unlock standalone value for the infrastructure division. Euronext Athens serves as the primary venue under consideration for the potential listing.

Corporate Context and Market Position

The evaluation comes as industrial and energy conglomerates examine structural reorganizations to highlight discrete business segments. Maintaining majority ownership would allow Metlen to continue consolidating METKA's financial performance while giving outside investors direct equity access to its engineering, construction, and concession portfolio.
