Klaviyo is shifting its strategic focus from email marketing to a broader revenue-generation platform. The company is using new AI-powered tools to compete with established marketing suites, relying on the adoption of its automation products to sustain growth while analyst expectations change.

"The key thing is, ‘Hey, what’s the outcome you’re trying to drive, and how do we let you do that as fast as possible?’ That is what makes Klaviyo durable," said Ed Hallen, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Klaviyo, at the Citi 2026 Global TMT Conference.

Scaling AI Adoption

Klaviyo’s latest product, the Customer Agent, is the fastest-growing tool in company history. It recorded 40% quarter-over-quarter growth. The company is also seeing uptake for its AI-powered content tool, Composer. Since its launch two months ago, 138,000 customers have adopted Composer. While these adoption metrics signal product-market fit, Klaviyo noted that revenue from the Composer tool is not yet reflected in the company's reported financial results.

Financial Position and Market Outlook

These product developments occur as the company navigates scrutiny from the investment community. According to a transcript from the Citi 2026 Global TMT Conference, Klaviyo currently maintains a 74% gross profit margin and a market capitalization of approximately $5.3 billion.

Despite these margins, the company faces headwinds in market sentiment. Recent data indicates that 20 analysts have issued downward revisions to their earnings estimates for the firm, highlighting the gap between the company’s product expansion strategy and current profitability expectations.

The Shift to Unified Revenue Platforms

Klaviyo’s pivot represents a move to unify customer data with generative AI. This allows users to automate complex marketing workflows instead of sending email campaigns. By positioning itself as a revenue platform, the company aims to differentiate its offerings from legacy marketing software that lacks integration between customer data and autonomous content generation. The success of this transition depends on whether the company can convert its user-adoption rates into bottom-line growth as the AI-driven tools move through their initial rollout phases.
