President Donald Trump warned Tehran against construction activity at Iran's heavily fortified Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site as ongoing Middle East conflict pushes international energy benchmarks past $100 per barrel.
"We notice there's a little activity at Pickaxe. I would advise Iran not to get cute because we will have to hit them very hard," President Donald Trump said at the midterm Republican convention.
Satellite Analysis Shows Record Activity
Independent analysis of satellite imagery released by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) revealed a surge in activity at the subterranean facility. According to the findings, road traffic and construction at Pickaxe Mountain in 2026 reached higher levels than at any prior point in the site's history.
The imagery indicates a tactical shift away from initial excavation toward probable internal infrastructure development and exterior reinforcement. The facility has long been a focal point for international monitors tracking Tehran's nuclear program due to its deep subterranean positioning.
Crude Markets Push Past $100
The geopolitical warnings coincided with rising energy prices across global commodity exchanges. International benchmark Brent crude futures for November delivery rose 0.9% to trade at $102.10 per barrel, crossing a key psychological threshold amid supply disruption fears in the Strait of Hormuz region.
Concurrently, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures increased 1% to reach $97.01 per barrel. Energy traders continue to price in heightened security premiums as diplomatic friction between Washington and Tehran persists.
Market Reaction for Trump Media
In public equities trading, Trump Media & Technology Group Corp (NASDAQ: DJT) moved lower following the remarks. The stock traded at $8.66, down 1.37% from its previous close of $8.78, according to Finnhub market data.
What Is at Stake for Regional Stability
The escalation highlights the persistent economic vulnerability tied to Middle Eastern nuclear infrastructure and maritime transit corridors. With crude benchmarks holding above $100 per barrel, downstream industrial and consumer energy costs face renewed upward pressure as geopolitical tensions translate directly into commodity market volatility.
