SECO S.p.A. forecasts record revenue of €60 million for the third quarter of 2026. This represents a 25% year-over-year increase, which the company attributes to a pivot toward Physical AI applications. This growth target indicates an acceleration for the Italian tech firm as it expands its presence in industrial automation and robotics.

"This will be the highest quarterly revenue in the Seco history," said Massimo Mauri, CEO of SECO, during a recent earnings call.

Defining Physical AI

SECO defines Physical AI as the deployment of artificial intelligence within industrial devices, autonomous systems, and robotics that must perceive and interact with the physical world. While generative models are often confined to digital environments, these systems require high-performance edge computing to process real-time sensor data and execute mechanical tasks.

"I think physical AI means when a machine starts to perceive and interact with the reality. And this is exactly where the Seco offering and our technology is really competitive," said Mauri.

Strategic Outlook and Partnerships

Beyond the Q3 guidance, the company has raised its 2027 revenue outlook to at least €270 million. A primary driver of this growth is a new partnership with Neura Robotics, which is expected to contribute a minimum of €25 million to the 2027 revenue total.

These projections arrive as SECO navigates industry challenges, including margin pressures from fluctuating component costs. By shifting its focus to specialized hardware-software integrations for industrial clients, the company aims to move away from commodity hardware toward AI-enabled solutions.

What Is at Stake

The company’s ability to scale its Physical AI portfolio is critical for maintaining its position against global edge-computing providers. As industries automate, the demand for hardware capable of running sophisticated AI models locally, instead of relying entirely on cloud connectivity, has become a central focus for manufacturers and logistics firms.
