Identiv, Inc. has officially rebranded as INVE Technologies, Inc. after completing the sale of its IoT business to Trackonomy Systems, Inc. on September 15, 2026. This change shifts the company from hardware-centric IoT manufacturing to a software-as-a-service model focused on physical AI compliance.
As part of the transaction, INVE Technologies received $50 million in preferred equity in Trackonomy, a figure subject to customary post-closing adjustments. The divestiture of these assets serves as a strategic shift for the company, which now aims to build a portfolio centered on physical AI solutions.
"Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in our company's history. Moving forward as INVE Technologies, our goal is to build a physical AI solutions business through targeted SaaS acquisitions, enhanced by the addition of physical AI data through our expected strategic partnership with Trackonomy," said CEO Kirsten Newquist.
Leadership Transition Timeline
The company is also undergoing a leadership change. James Greenwell will assume the role of Interim CEO on September 21, 2026. He succeeds Newquist, who will step down as CEO on that date and vacate her seat on the Board of Directors on September 30, 2026.
"Bringing this transaction to a successful close marks an important strategic milestone for our company," said James Ousley, Chairman of the Board.
Market Position and Strategic Pivot
This restructuring moves the company away from its traditional hardware operations and into the compliance-focused SaaS sector. By leveraging data streams from the divested IoT assets through a strategic partnership with Trackonomy, INVE intends to scale its physical AI compliance offerings.
As of September 18, 2026, shares of INVE Technologies (INVE) were trading at $2.53. The company’s valuation and operational trajectory will depend on its ability to execute its planned SaaS acquisitions and integrate the data-sharing framework established with Trackonomy.
