Goldman Sachs added Amazon and four other major companies to its Director's Cut conviction list for October, signaling shifts in the bank's favored large-cap equities.

Alongside Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), the newly added equities include Burlington Stores (NYSE:BURL), Huntington Ingalls (NYSE:HII), Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI), and Occidental Petroleum (NYSE:OXY).

Equities Removed From the Conviction List

To accommodate the additions, Goldman Sachs removed five other companies from the monthly roster.

  • Air Products and Chemicals (NYSE:APD)
  • ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP)
  • Golar LNG (NASDAQ:GLNG)
  • Loar Holdings (NYSE:LOAR)
  • Tyson Foods (NYSE:TSN)

The financial institution did not disclose specific catalysts or underlying rationales for the individual removals in its public portfolio announcement.

Understanding Conviction Lists
