Gilat Satellite Networks secured over $8 million in orders from the U.S. Department of Defense for satellite communications upgrades and field services, delivered through its DataPath subsidiary to support deployed military networks.
The contract win arrives as Gilat navigates trading on the public markets. According to Finnhub market data, Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (GILT) traded at $8.26, down 1.73% from its previous close of $8.40, as of market close on October 13, 2026.
"These awards reflect the U.S. Department of War’s continued confidence in Gilat Defense’s ability to support mission-critical communications for defense operations," said Nicole Robinson, President of Gilat DataPath, in a statement regarding the orders.
Delivery Timeline and Deployment Scope
The newly secured orders are scheduled for fulfillment over the next 12 months. The work centers on upgrading existing satellite communications systems and providing ongoing field services for deployed military units.
DataPath operates as a subsidiary specializing in hardened tactical communications and remote ground terminal support for defense customers. These systems ensure uninterrupted connectivity for personnel stationed in remote or contested environments where commercial infrastructure is unavailable.
Strategic Defense Contracts
Securing multi-million-dollar defense awards reinforces Gilat's footprint within government technology procurement. Satellite communications infrastructure is an important component of modern defense operations, requiring specialized ground terminals and high-throughput satellite capabilities to maintain secure links between command centers and tactical field units.
The 12-month delivery window ensures consistent revenue recognition for the subsidiary as systems are upgraded and field technicians service deployed hardware globally.
