Factory has secured $200 million in new funding, pushing its valuation to $5 billion. This figure represents an increase of more than three times the $1.5 billion valuation recorded in April 2026. This capital injection is the startup’s third funding milestone in five months as it shifts focus from basic coding assistants to autonomous enterprise engineering platforms.
"Across the world’s largest enterprises, we are seeing a move from individual coding agents to software factories that serve as the core foundation from which an entire software company operates," said Matan Grinberg, Co-Founder and CEO of Factory, in a statement regarding the raise.
Valuation Growth
The company’s valuation has climbed throughout the year, reflecting demand for AI-driven development tools. Factory's financial trajectory over the last five months includes:
- April 2026: $150 million Series C round, resulting in a $1.5 billion valuation.
- July 2026: $120 million funding extension, bringing the valuation to $4 billion.
- September 2026: $200 million round, reaching the current $5 billion valuation.
From Coding Assistants to Autonomous Droids
Standard AI coding assistants focus on single-task completion. Factory uses a proprietary system of "Droids" designed to handle multi-step engineering workflows. These agents operate with higher levels of autonomy, managing complex software development cycles instead of just suggesting code snippets.
To manage the operational costs associated with large language models, the platform utilizes a "Router" technology. This mechanism directs tasks to different AI models based on specific performance needs and cost thresholds. According to technical documentation, this routing process can reduce token consumption by more than 60% compared to using a single, monolithic model for all development tasks.
Deployment Flexibility and Enterprise Security
Factory offers varied deployment architectures for enterprise clients with data sovereignty requirements. The platform supports three primary deployment configurations:
- Factory-managed cloud: Standard SaaS delivery for implementation.
- Customer-controlled on-premises: Systems hosted within the client's own infrastructure.
- Fully air-gapped systems: Isolated environments that operate without any connection to the public internet, ensuring that sensitive proprietary code remains off-network.
This infrastructure focus allows Factory to compete for contracts with large-scale organizations that are transitioning from experimental AI pilots to integrated software engineering frameworks.
