Core & Main posted fiscal second-quarter adjusted earnings that topped analyst estimates, backed by steady municipal demand, fire protection products, and smart utility offerings, according to an Investing.com report.

For the quarter ended August 2, 2026, the distributor of water, fire protection, and storm drainage products reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.94. That figure outperformed the analyst consensus forecast of $0.92 by $0.02.

"We delivered growth across sales, adjusted EBITDA and earnings per share during the second quarter, while momentum continues to build across the business," said Mark Witkowski, Chief Executive Officer, in a statement regarding the results.

Revenue and Profitability Metrics

Total revenue for the quarter reached $2.14 billion, matching Wall Street estimates and marking a 2.5% increase compared with $2.09 billion in the same period last year. Net income rose 6.4% to $150 million, up from $141 million in the prior-year quarter.

Profitability also expanded modestly on an adjusted basis. Adjusted EBITDA increased 3.0% to $274 million, delivering an adjusted EBITDA margin of 12.8% for the period.

Fiscal 2026 Outlook and Guidance

Looking ahead, Core & Main reaffirmed its full-year guidance for fiscal 2026. The company continues to project net sales between $7.8 billion and $7.9 billion, alongside adjusted EBITDA expectations ranging from $950 million to $980 million.

These full-year projections reflect management's confidence in sustained municipal spending and ongoing infrastructure investments across the domestic waterworks sector.
