Boeing has secured a $13.4 billion ceiling modification to an existing U.S. military contract, expanding the total agreement value to $19.1 billion while adding Foreign Military Sales for international partners.

Expanding Contract Ceilings and Scope

The Investing.com report details that the modification raises the initial $5.7 billion contract ceiling up to $19.1 billion. The expanded agreement incorporates Foreign Military Sales work explicitly designated for Japan and Israel, alongside provisions to cover future international country partners.

Boeing originally received the contract in 2019 under designation FA8609-19-D-0007. Manufacturing and development work for the project takes place in Seattle, Washington, with the overall project timeline scheduled for completion by April 28, 2035.

Funding Mechanics and Contracting Activity

No funds are being obligated at the time of the award. Instead, the contract modification establishes a funding ceiling that can be drawn upon as specific task orders are issued over the multi-year lifecycle of the project.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, acts as the primary contracting activity overseeing the agreement.

Market Data and Financial Context

Trading activity for Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) reflected modest movement following the announcement. As of market data on September 15, 2026, the stock traded at $209.44, down 0.39% for the session.

Contract modifications of this scale are common in long-term defense procurement, allowing agencies to scale project scope and accommodate international allied partners under established contracting frameworks without requiring entirely separate competitive bidding processes.
