Bitget Wallet has integrated the tokenized-asset protocol Reality, giving its user base access to more than 1,700 tokenized U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds on the Arbitrum and Morph chains. The integration connects decentralized finance participants directly to traditional equities, aligning with a broader industry push by self-custodial wallets to offer tokenized traditional financial assets.
Reality issues tokens known as rTokens that track more than 1,700 U.S. stocks and ETFs. These digital assets are backed one-to-one by actual shares held at Alpaca Securities, a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority-registered, Securities Investor Protection Corporation-member broker-dealer, with reserves attested daily by a third-party accounting firm, according to an Investing.com report.
How Tokenized Equities Route Orders and Dividends
Unlike purely onchain synthetic assets, the integration bridges decentralized infrastructure with traditional exchange liquidity. During U.S. market hours, orders are routed to Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange liquidity pools rather than relying solely on automated market maker liquidity.
Holders of the rTokens also receive stablecoin dividends directly to their self-custodial wallets. Furthermore, corporate actions such as stock splits are applied automatically to user holdings without requiring manual intervention.
Scale and Market Growth for Real-World Assets
The product expansion arrives as self-custodial wallets increasingly incorporate real-world assets to capture growing user demand for tokenized yield and traditional market exposure. Bitget Wallet reports having 100 million users worldwide, and its real-world asset trading volume rose 27% in the second quarter compared to the previous three-month period.
Tokenized equities represent an expanding segment of the decentralized finance ecosystem, where protocols seek to bridge regulatory compliance with blockchain efficiency. By utilizing broker-dealer custody and daily third-party attestations, platforms like Reality attempt to mitigate counterparty risks that have historically hindered institutional participation in onchain asset tokenization.
