SSP Group has initiated a share buyback program to repurchase up to £50 million of its ordinary shares. The company cited improved cash generation as the reason for returning capital to shareholders. The program began on October 12, 2026, and will run until October 12, 2027.
All shares acquired under this initiative will be cancelled to reduce the company's total issued share capital. This follows a period of activity for the travel food and beverage operator, which repurchased 55,119,418 ordinary shares between its 2026 Annual General Meeting and October 8, 2026.
Execution and Independent Authority
SSP Group has appointed Panmure Liberum Limited to manage the repurchase process. The firm will act as a riskless principal. This structure allows the company to continue repurchases independently during closed periods or when the company might be restricted from trading due to the possession of inside information.
Operational Context
SSP Group operates a global network of food and beverage outlets in travel hubs, such as airports and railway stations. The company employs approximately 49,000 people across more than 3,000 units in 38 countries.
Note: This topic covers a standard corporate capital allocation announcement without broader market-moving implications or financial complexity beyond the mechanics of the repurchase.
