Repligen raised its full-year organic growth outlook to a range of 10.5% to 13.5% following a second-quarter performance that outpaced prior expectations despite persistent headwinds in gene therapy and filtration segments, management announced at the Wells Fargo 21st Annual Healthcare Conference.

"We grew 13% organic, and if we normalize for a tariff refund effect, the real number was 14%," said Olivier Loeillot, Chief Executive, Repligen, in a statement regarding the quarterly results.

Segment Performance and Discrete Headwinds

The upgraded full-year guidance follows a second quarter in which Repligen reported 13% organic growth, or 14% before adjusting for tariff refunds. According to the Wells Fargo conference transcript, discrete items reduced reported growth by a combined 400 basis points.

Specific headwinds impacting the period included a gene therapy program and two alternating tangential flow (ATF) customer issues within the filtration business, each accounting for approximately 2 percentage points of drag. Tariff refunds and the divestiture of Polymem contributed another 1 percentage point each to the total 4% reduction.

Acquisition Strategy and Revenue Targets

The life sciences tools provider is also navigating corporate expansion through its pending acquisition of BioLife Solutions. Management noted that the transaction is expected to increase operational scale, generate cost synergies, and support the company's strategic roadmap toward achieving $1 billion in annual revenue by 2027.

What Is at Stake for Bioprocessing

These financial adjustments highlight shifting demand patterns across the bioprocessing sector as equipment suppliers absorb program-specific delays from developer clients. By lifting its full-year guidance despite a combined 400 basis points in discrete headwinds, Repligen's management signals broader underlying strength across its core filtration and chromatography portfolios as inventory normalization settles across the life sciences industry.
