Ocean Capital Acquisition Corporation (NYSE: OCAC) has appointed CEO Kin (Stephen) Sze to serve as interim Chief Financial Officer. This follows the immediate resignation of Dr. Man Kai (Anthony) Ho, effective Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

The leadership transition at the British Virgin Islands-incorporated blank check company occurs while the firm searches for a permanent successor to oversee financial operations. The company confirmed the departure did not result from disputes regarding internal policies or practices.

"The resignation of Dr. Ho was not due to any disagreement with the company on any matter relating to the company’s operations, policies, or practices," the firm stated in a recent SEC filing.

Financial Context and Market Standing

As a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), Ocean Capital Acquisition raises capital through an initial public offering to acquire an existing company. These entities operate with lean management structures, making the dual role of CEO and interim CFO a common temporary arrangement during executive transitions.

Following the announcement, shares of the company (NYSE: OCAC) traded at $9.97 as of September 11, 2026. Stock performance remains a key metric for shareholders as the company continues its search for a target acquisition, a process relying on the financial oversight typically managed by the CFO.

What Is at Stake for Shareholders

The resignation of a CFO in a SPAC environment matters to investors, as these companies are pools of capital waiting for a deal. Investors often scrutinize the stability of the executive team during the search phase for potential merger targets. With Sze assuming interim finance duties, the firm aims to maintain continuity in its search for a business combination while the board evaluates candidates for the permanent CFO position.
