NeOnc Technologies executives purchased $629,000 of company stock in open-market transactions following positive Phase 2a clinical data for their lead brain-cancer therapy, NEO100. The insider buying indicates management's confidence in the drug's clinical efficacy as the company prepares for regulatory discussions.
"The strength of our Phase 2a results reinforces my conviction in NeOnc's mission and the potential of our NEO platform," said Amir F. Heshmatpour, CEO of NeOnc, in a statement.
Insider Buying Activity
Since August 12, 2026, CEO Amir F. Heshmatpour and Founder, CMO, and CSO Thomas C. Chen have acquired a combined 160,016 shares. This investment reflects an alignment of leadership interests with the company's clinical milestones. Market observers view such purchases as a signal of internal optimism regarding upcoming regulatory interactions, particularly when conducted in the open market rather than through pre-planned compensation programs.
Clinical Performance of NEO100
The executive buying follows the release of data from the NEO100-01 Phase 2a study. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating clinical metrics that exceeded historical benchmarks for the patient population:
- Progression-Free Survival (PFS): The six-month PFS rate reached 48.9%, higher than the 20% industry benchmark.
- Median Overall Survival: Trial participants achieved a median overall survival of 26.09 months.
Regulatory Path Forward
With the Phase 2a data in hand, NeOnc is shifting its focus toward the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The company plans to request a Type B meeting with regulators to discuss a potential registrational pathway for NEO100. Type B meetings are used to address specific questions regarding clinical trial design or the adequacy of data for a future New Drug Application (NDA) submission.
For investors and stakeholders, the outcome of this meeting will determine the company's timeline for bringing NEO100 to market. The company's ability to transition from Phase 2a results to a registrational study will depend on the FDA's feedback regarding the survival data reported thus far.
