Mizuho has increased its price target for Salesforce (NYSE:CRM) from $265 to $280. The firm maintains an 'Outperform' rating as Salesforce shifts toward an AI-focused product strategy for its 2026 fiscal outlook. This adjustment follows the Dreamforce conference, where the company showcased new automation tools despite experiencing an operational setback.
"The 2026 setup looks much better than 2025 as the company's AI-driven product strategy gains traction," analysts at Mizuho noted in a research summary regarding the target hike.
Expanding the AI Ecosystem
Salesforce is currently focused on the expansion of its Agentforce platform. The company introduced 'Koa,' a new CRM reasoning model built on NVIDIA's Nemotron technology. Unlike standard generative AI assistants, Koa manages complex, multi-step enterprise workflows by reasoning through data across disparate business systems.
To monetize these capabilities, Salesforce is bundling access to its advanced AI interfaces into a new 'high-end AIforce Max tier.' These interfaces surface predictive insights for existing deployments. This move shifts the company toward higher-margin subscription models that leverage its deep integration into enterprise data stacks.
Operational Challenges at Dreamforce
While the market reaction to the AI announcements has been positive, the company faced technical headwinds during the launch week. On the second day of the Dreamforce conference, Salesforce experienced a service disruption that impacted its Core Service across multiple geographic regions.
Such outages are sensitive for enterprise software providers, as they can impact customer trust and service-level agreement obligations. The company's ability to maintain platform stability while scaling its new AI-driven reasoning models remains a variable for investors monitoring the 2026 growth trajectory.
Market Position and Outlook
Salesforce is positioning its AI tools as a necessity, banking on the idea that enterprise clients will pay a premium for agents capable of executing autonomous tasks. The Mizuho upgrade reflects a shift in the view that the company’s transition to an AI-first architecture is beginning to materialize in its financial outlook, potentially outpacing the slower growth environment observed in 2025.
