Meta Platforms is reentering the top tier of artificial intelligence development with its new Muse Wonder model family, designed to handle complex agentic workflows and rival systems from OpenAI and Anthropic. The release has shifted competitive dynamics across the tech sector, though Meta Platforms Inc-Class A (META) shares recently traded at $709.33, down 3.72% from a previous close of $736.72, as of October 16, 2026, according to Finnhub market data.
"Meta is introducing Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, our most capable models to date, built to deliver state-of-the-art performance on personal and professional agentic tasks, from navigating an insurance claim to making sense of a lease to building a working app," said Meta in a statement regarding the release.
Two Versions for Different Workloads
The Muse Wonder series is split into two offerings tailored for varying computational needs. According to a Business Insider report, the lineup comprises Muse Wonder, a smaller model intended for routine daily tasks, and Muse Wonder Full, a larger version built for advanced reasoning.
Both models incorporate architectural features including Active Focus and Active Memory. Mashable reported that these features are engineered to keep automated agents on task during assignments that require maintaining context over extended periods.
Leaderboard Standings and Pricing
The arrival of the new models marks a shift in Meta's competitive position. On the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index leaderboard, Muse Wonder Full ranks second only to Claude Opus 5.5 Max while tying with Claude Sonnet 5.5 Max.
Availability varies by tier and application:
- Muse Wonder is available now to developers through the Meta Model API and Muse Code.
- Muse Wonder Full is accessible to Muse Code subscribers.
- Muse Wonder Full will soon power experiences in Muse for paid subscribers at subscription tiers of $20 or $100 per month.
What Agentic AI Means for Enterprise Users
The launch highlights an industry pivot toward agentic artificial intelligence, which consists of systems designed to execute multi-step workflows autonomously rather than merely responding to individual prompts. By integrating these capabilities into developer APIs and consumer-facing subscription services, Meta is competing directly for enterprise software budgets currently dominated by specialized AI startups and established cloud providers.
