Jyske Bank has repurchased 54,137 of its own shares for 59.4 million kroner. This transaction represents the latest step in an effort to return capital to shareholders. The bank executed these trades between September 28 and October 2, 2026, bringing the total closer to its 3 billion kroner authorization limit.

Following these acquisitions, Jyske Bank now holds 2,127,014 treasury shares. This total accounts for 3.65% of the company's share capital. The bank started this buyback program on February 5, 2026, and the program will expire on January 29, 2027.

Progress Toward the 3 Billion Kroner Target

Since the program began, Jyske Bank has used its authorized capital to reduce its outstanding share count. According to a company filing, the cumulative value of repurchased shares has reached 2.04 billion kroner.

During the program, the bank has maintained an average purchase price of 957.50 kroner per share. This strategy helps manage the bank's capital structure and provides a way to return value to shareholders beyond standard dividend payments.

Understanding Share Buybacks

Corporate share buybacks occur when a company uses cash reserves to purchase its own stock from the open market. By reducing the number of shares available to the public, the company increases the earnings per share (EPS) for remaining shareholders, provided total earnings remain constant.

For financial institutions like Jyske Bank, buyback programs are subject to regulatory oversight regarding capital adequacy ratios. These programs must be balanced against requirements to maintain sufficient liquidity and regulatory capital buffers.
