JPMorgan initiated coverage on SK Hynix Inc. with an overweight rating and a $245.00 price target, pointing to artificial intelligence memory demand and expectations for a multi-year industry upturn. The bank projects the memory maker will achieve a 34% earnings per share compound annual growth rate over the next two years as the sector benefits from hardware shifts.

"JPMorgan projects SK Hynix will deliver a 34% earnings per share compound annual growth rate over the next two years," according to an Investing.com report detailing the analyst coverage.

Multi-Year Memory Upturn and Pricing Trends

The analyst coverage anticipates that the current AI-driven memory cycle will persist for more than five years. According to the research note, average selling prices for advanced memory components are projected to trend upward through the fourth quarter of 2028 and beyond, defying historical cyclical volatility that has plagued semiconductor manufacturers in past decades.

This extended expansion is largely underpinned by the rapid scaling of data center infrastructure required to train and run large language models. High-bandwidth memory, a specialized DRAM architecture where SK Hynix holds a prominent market position, has become a critical bottleneck component in high-performance computing setups designed by major technology firms.

Long-Term Contracts and Shareholder Returns

To safeguard its operational margins against future market downturns, SK Hynix has secured more than 50% of its production capacity through long-term agreements with key enterprise buyers. These multi-year supply commitments provide revenue visibility that traditional memory suppliers rarely enjoy during expansion phases.

Alongside its manufacturing capacity locks, the company has increased its shareholder return pool to over 50% of free cash flow. This capital allocation strategy rewards equity holders directly from the cash generated by the artificial intelligence hardware boom while maintaining capital expenditure budgets for next-generation fabrication facilities.

Market Position and Broader Sector Context

Analyst optimism around SK Hynix reflects a broader structural realignment in the semiconductor supply chain. Traditional consumer electronics demand for personal computers and smartphones remains subdued, while high-margin enterprise data center components generate outsized revenue shares.

In broader financial markets, JPMorgan Chase & Co stock traded at $356.23, up 0.76% from its previous close of $353.56, as of September 11, 2026, according to Finnhub market data. The initiation on SK Hynix places institutional weight behind the thesis that specialized memory manufacturers will continue capturing outsized economic value throughout the ongoing artificial intelligence hardware buildout.
