AI software development platform Factory has reached a $5 billion valuation after a $200 million capital raise. This figure represents a tripling of its valuation since April 2026. The funding round highlights the inflow of institutional capital into agentic software platforms built to automate enterprise coding workflows.
"Across the world’s largest enterprises, we are seeing a move from individual coding agents to software factories that serve as the core foundation from which an entire software company operates," said Matan Grinberg, co-founder and CEO of Factory, in a statement regarding the funding.
Market Positioning and Deployment
Factory separates its platform from consumer coding assistants by focusing on enterprise infrastructure. The platform supports deployment across cloud environments, on-premises servers, and fully air-gapped networks. This feature set addresses organizations with strict data sovereignty and security requirements.
This valuation trajectory places Factory among the most highly valued players in the sector. It remains behind industry frontrunners like Cognition, which currently carries a $48 billion valuation. The latest round included participation from Blackstone, Khosla Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Insight Partners, Evantic Capital, Sound Ventures, NEA, Mantis VC, and Clearlake.
Why Enterprise AI Coding Matters
As businesses look to automate complex software development lifecycles, the shift from agentic tools that assist individual developers to platforms that function as an integrated factory is becoming a focus for enterprise IT budgets. By offering air-gapped deployment, Factory intends to capture market share among financial institutions and government entities that cannot utilize standard public cloud AI models due to data privacy risks.
This funding round follows a period of expansion for the startup. Its valuation grew from $1.5 billion in April 2026 to its current $5 billion level in less than six months.
