Evercore ISI upgraded Procter & Gamble to an Outperform rating from In Line and raised its price target to $166.00, marking the firm's first top-line upside call on the consumer goods giant in two years.

The upgrade reflects an improving organic sales outlook and signals an end to the period of downside risk that has weighed on the equity. The new $166.00 price target represents a 14.0% premium to the stock's closing price prior to the adjustment and aligns closely with its 52-week high of $167.25.

"Evercore ISI upgraded Procter & Gamble to Outperform with a $166 price target (its first top-line upside call on the stock in two years), citing an improving organic sales outlook that marks the end of downside risk," according to an Investing.com report.

Sales Projections for Fiscal 2027

Stronger revenue projections extending into the medium term are driving the analyst upgrade. According to the Investing.com report, Evercore raised its first-quarter fiscal 2027 organic sales growth estimate to approximately 3.0% from its previous forecast.

This projection outpaces broader Wall Street estimates, sitting above consensus expectations of 2.0% for the period. The firm also expects Procter & Gamble to exit fiscal 2027 with organic growth of around 4.0%, a velocity that analysts note will generate meaningful operating leverage for the company.

Portfolio Drivers and Margin Expansion

A structural shift within Procter & Gamble's product portfolio supports the top-line momentum. Higher-margin beauty and personal care brands are contributing a larger share of top-line growth compared to traditional volume drivers like Pampers.

  • Olay: Leading skin care lines are capturing stronger discretionary spending.
  • Downy: Fabric care innovations continue to support premium pricing power.
  • Pantene: Hair care products are posting resilient gains across key retail channels.

What Is at Stake for Investors

The call removes a multi-year ceiling on analyst sentiment regarding Procter & Gamble's revenue growth trajectory. While potential cost headwinds such as volatile oil prices and logistics expenses remain variables for the broader consumer goods sector, Evercore's projections indicate that internal pricing execution and premium product mix are sufficient to offset these pressures and drive sustainable margin expansion through fiscal 2027.
