BioMarin Pharmaceutical's flagship therapy Voxzogo is on track to surpass $1.0 billion in revenue for 2026, driven by a 20% surge in global patient demand, executives said at the Citi Biopharma Summit. The projected full-year 2026 revenue of $1.0 billion to $1.05 billion highlights sustained growth for the treatment despite emerging competition in the rare disease market.

"Recently, on our Q2 call, we announced that we have 4 products on the path to blockbuster status, which we're excited about, and VOXZOGO is leading the way," said Cristin Hubbard, Chief Commercial Officer at BioMarin, during the presentation.

Strong Patient Retention Amid New Competition

Market retention for Voxzogo remains resilient despite the entry of alternative therapies. BioMarin reported a 90% patient retention rate for the drug, with only about 10% of U.S. patients switching to Ascendis Pharma's competing treatment, Yorvipath.

Executives noted that the stability in patient numbers reflects entrenched clinical trust and ongoing physician familiarity with Voxzogo's administration profile. This retention supports the company's broader transition toward expanding its rare-disease portfolio beyond legacy enzyme replacement therapies.

R&D Efficiency and Filing Timelines

Beyond commercial metrics, BioMarin outlined operational improvements aimed at accelerating its development pipeline. Greg Friberg, Head of R&D, pointed to shortened regulatory review windows as a key internal performance benchmark.

"79 days between the closure of the database and the submission to the FDA. That puts us in, at least according to McKinsey data, the top quartile," said Greg Friberg, Head of R&D at BioMarin.

This filing speed allows the drug developer to advance follow-on indications and pipeline candidates more rapidly through preclinical and clinical evaluation stages. The efficiency gains are part of a corporate restructuring intended to improve capital allocation across research initiatives.

Financial Position and Stock Performance

In the public markets, BioMarin shares closed at $65.68, up 0.26% on September 11, 2026, according to Finnhub market data. The modest trading range accompanies investor focus on whether upcoming pipeline milestones can validate the company's multi-product blockbuster strategy.

As BioMarin works to cement Voxzogo as its first-ever blockbuster product, management's ability to defend market share against upcoming competitors will dictate top-line expansion through the remainder of the fiscal year.
