ASML Holding reported fourth-quarter sales guidance that topped analyst projections, easing recent market anxieties over whether the artificial intelligence infrastructure spending boom was beginning to slow.

The Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer guided for fourth-quarter net sales between €14.2 billion and €15.2 billion (approximately $15.9 billion to $17.0 billion) alongside a gross margin of roughly 57%. This outlook outpaced analyst consensus figures polled by LSEG, which had anticipated €14.19 billion in sales and a gross margin of 55.4%.

"There were concerns that the AI trade was running out of steam," said Gordon Kerr, European macro strategist at KBRA, adding ASML's results showed "demand for chips remains strong, and infrastructure spending is likely to continue well into 2027".

Third-Quarter Earnings and Full-Year Outlook

Alongside its upbeat fourth-quarter forecast, ASML reported third-quarter net profit of €4.96 billion on net sales of €11.7 billion. Buoyed by these results, the company raised its full-year sales outlook from a previous floor of at least €43 billion to a tightened range of €44 billion to €45 billion.

Long-Term Order Visibility and Capacity

ASML's order books reflect extended commitments from major semiconductor manufacturers racing to secure advanced lithography equipment. Beyond the near-term quarters, executives noted that customer planning has already pushed far into the decade.

"There is a lot of order intake for 2028. But also some strong interest to already place orders for 2029 and sometimes even 2030," said Christophe Fouquet, CEO, ASML, in a statement regarding the results.

This visibility helps address prior investor worries regarding potential cyclical downturns in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. However, some analysts point out that extended order timelines also raise questions about future capacity limits.

"Durable growth will continue into 2027 and 2028," said Ben Barringer, head of technology research at Quilter Cheviot. "...however, the market will begin asking the question of whether or not there will be any sign of a downturn from 2029 and what impact that has for ASML."

Market Valuation and Share Price

In the public markets, shares of ASML Holding NV-NY Reg Shs (ASML) traded at $1,647.12, up 0.34%, as of October 19, 2026, at 8:00 PM UTC, according to Finnhub market data.

The company plays a central role in the global semiconductor supply chain as the sole manufacturer of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines required to print the most advanced microchips used by major technology firms for AI workloads.
