Articore (ATG) achieved its first positive EBIT since fiscal 2021, reporting AUD 10.3 million for fiscal 2026. This represents a year-on-year improvement of AUD 21.1 million. The turnaround follows a multi-year effort to streamline operations and optimize margins, even as the company navigates softer marketplace revenue.

"The company had reduced operating expense every year since FY23 while still funding growth initiatives," said Derek Yung, Group Chief Financial Officer at Articore, during the AI & Technology Virtual Investor Conference.

Operational Efficiency and Cost Reduction

The company's path to profitability centers on a sustained reduction in overhead. Operating expenses fell to AUD 85 million in fiscal 2026, down from the peak of AUD 129 million recorded in fiscal 2023. This reduction in spending has been a primary driver in shifting the company's financial profile from loss-making to profitable over the last three fiscal years.

Growth Strategy and Shopify Integration

Alongside reducing costs, Articore has focused on expanding the reach of its Dashery platform. In June 2026, the company launched a Shopify integration designed to connect independent creators with the company's fulfillment network.

"The integration allows creators to keep their existing Shopify investments while using Articore's fulfillment network and product breadth," said Yung.

Management expects this move to broaden the company's addressable market by five to 10 times. By allowing creators to maintain their existing e-commerce infrastructure, Articore aims to lower the barrier to entry for merchants who rely on the Shopify ecosystem but require the scale of Articore’s product catalog and logistics capabilities.

What Is at Stake

The shift toward profitability marks a transition for Articore as it balances lean operations with the need to scale in a competitive marketplace. With the core business stabilizing and new integrations aimed at expanding the user base, the company is attempting to demonstrate that it can maintain margin improvements while capturing new revenue streams from the creator economy.
