Arista Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ANET) Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson Jayshree Ullal disposed of $21.1 million in company stock through pre-arranged trading plans, executing the sales as the shares traded near their annual highs.
The transactions follow a structured schedule previously put in place by executive leadership, providing insider liquidity while operating under predetermined market guidelines.
"The transactions involved a total of 96,992 shares of common stock sold at prices ranging from $217.00 to $217.18 per share pursuant to Rule 10b5-1 trading plans adopted on November 14, 2025," according to an Investing.com report.
Mechanics of Rule 10b5-1 Trading Plans
Corporate insiders utilize Rule 10b5-1 plans to establish a predetermined schedule for buying or selling company stock at a time when they are not in possession of material non-public information. This regulatory mechanism protects executives from potential insider trading allegations by separating the decision to trade from the actual execution date.
Under the terms disclosed in regulatory filings regarding the Investing.com data, Ullal adopted the governing trading framework nearly a year prior on November 14, 2025. The resulting sales on October 7, 2026, converted 96,992 shares into cash at a weighted execution range between $217.00 and $217.18 per share.
Market Valuation and Recent Price Action
Following the insider transactions, Arista Networks (ANET) stock traded at $176.98, marking a 4.63% decline from its previous close of $185.58, according to Finnhub market data as of 2026-10-16T20:00:00.000Z.
Such executive stock sales are common portfolio management strategies for long-tenured tech leadership, allowing founders and CEOs to diversify personal holdings while maintaining substantial equity alignment with public shareholders through remaining vested and unvested positions.
