Alliance Entertainment reported fiscal 2026 revenue of $1.15 billion, an 8% increase year-over-year, as a resurgence in physical media and collectibles bolstered the company's bottom line. Adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) rose 24% to $0.46, signaling improved operational efficiency despite rising working capital demands.
"Physical entertainment is becoming more specialized and increasingly centered around ownership, fandom, and premium products," said Jeff Walker, CEO of Alliance Entertainment, during the company's earnings call.
Growth Drivers in Physical Media
The company's performance was underpinned by specific gains in its physical media segments. Vinyl records saw a 13% increase in revenue, while CD sales grew by 25%. The collectibles segment also acted as a growth driver, with revenue surging 45% to $32 million.
To support its retail partners, the company is preparing to launch its Webb-AMP B2B platform in early 2027. The system will feature AI-enabled search capabilities designed to assist independent retailers in managing inventory and discovering new product lines.
Financial Headwinds and Write-offs
Despite the revenue growth, the company faced accounting challenges during the fiscal year. CFO Amanda Gnecco noted that the results were impacted by a one-time charge related to legacy business operations.
"Fiscal 26 also included a $7.8 million noncash write off of a historical vendor rebate receivable," said Gnecco, noting that the charge was associated with a vendor that ceased operations.
This write-off reflects the operational adjustments the firm is making as it navigates shifting supply chain dynamics. The company continues to manage increased working capital requirements, a pressure point for distributors dealing with the inventory-heavy nature of physical music and collectible markets.
Market Position and Industry Trends
Alliance Entertainment serves as an intermediary in the entertainment supply chain, connecting retailers with a catalog of media. The company's focus on premium products aligns with industry trends where physical media is marketed as a collector's item rather than a commodity. This shift has helped the firm maintain relevance in a digital music market.
