Allegion plc has acquired the Pennsylvania-based Overly Door Company. This manufacturer specializes in high-security, blast-resistant, and acoustic door solutions. The acquisition adds to Allegion's non-residential product offerings by integrating a firm with over 135 years of industry experience into the Allegion Americas segment.

"Overly is a great addition to Allegion, bringing another century of experience, talented experts and a specialty portfolio aligned with what we're known for, making critical, complex environments more secure and accessible," said Dave Ilardi, Senior Vice President at Allegion.

Strategic Integration

Following the acquisition, Overly Door Company will operate under the leadership of Dave Ilardi within the Allegion Americas division. The integration combines Overly’s niche manufacturing capabilities with Allegion’s distribution network to address demand in sectors such as government facilities, data centers, and high-security infrastructure.

"Overly has built its reputation on uncompromising quality and service in high-security markets. We share that same commitment with Allegion, and we're confident our combination will drive new value and greater efficiency for our operations and our customers," said Jonathan Reese, leader at Overly.

Financial Context and Market Position

This acquisition continues Allegion's expansion within the security hardware space. In its fiscal 2025 reporting, Allegion reported $4.1 billion in total revenue. The company's stock (ALLE) closed at $150.48 on October 9, 2026.

Market Impact

For Allegion, the acquisition deepens its footprint in the specialty door market. Allegion is recognized for commercial and residential door hardware. The addition of Overly’s custom acoustic and bullet-resistant capabilities allows the company to provide security solutions for projects requiring physical protection. By absorbing Overly, which was founded in 1888, Allegion gains specialized engineering expertise that provides an alternative to organic R&D and may shorten the time-to-market for future high-security product iterations.
