Conduit Holdings has named Christian Dunleavy as its next Chief Executive Officer, according to an Investing.com report, succeeding co-founder Neil Eckert effective March 1, 2027. The planned leadership transition prepares the publicly traded reinsurance holding company for its next phase of operations following its 2020 establishment.

"Leadership succession has been a key priority for the Board, and we are delighted that we have been able to identify a high-quality candidate in Christian Dunleavy," said Nicholas Shott, Chair of Conduit Holdings, in a statement regarding the appointment.

Background and Career History of the Incoming CEO

Christian Dunleavy brings more than 25 years of reinsurance industry experience to the role at Conduit Holdings. Prior to his appointment, he most recently served as Director and Group President of Aspen Insurance Holdings, alongside holding the position of CEO of Aspen Bermuda Limited.

His extensive tenure in senior executive roles within the global reinsurance market positions him to oversee underwriting strategies and capital management at Conduit Holdings once he assumes the top post in early 2027.

Transition Details and Executive Roles

Under the announced transition timeline, outgoing CEO Neil Eckert will step down from his positions as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director on March 1, 2027. Concurrently, Christian Dunleavy will step into the CEO role and join the Conduit Holdings Board of Directors as an Executive Director.

Neil Eckert originally co-founded Conduit in 2020. He initially served as Executive Chairman before transitioning to the role of Chief Executive Officer in May 2025.

What Is at Stake for Reinsurance Leadership

Structured leadership changes at specialized reinsurance firms like Conduit Holdings draw close scrutiny from institutional investors and market analysts who monitor executive continuity during multi-year underwriting cycles. The orderly transition announced well in advance provides the firm with stable oversight as it navigates evolving property-casualty reinsurance pricing environments and capital allocation requirements.
