Amazon Adds Six Ariane 6 Launches for Kuiper Satellite Network

Amazon expanded its launch commitments with Arianespace by ordering six additional flights on the Ariane 6 rocket, bringing its total contracted launches with the European provider to 24 through 2031. Developed by ArianeGroup for the European Space Agency, the Ariane 6 rocket comes in two primary variants: the Ariane 62 with two boosters for medium-Earth orbit missions, and the Ariane 64 with four boosters designed for heavy payloads. Amazon's commitment to the higher-capacity Ariane 64 version for its 2029 flights reflects the scale required to maintain its low Earth orbit broadband network.
